Becky and Mike are from Alabama but lived in Panama City for a short time after Becky retired from her career as an Executive Secretary and Mike retired from the Alabama Army National Guard and Aviation Maintenance Supervisor. They also ran their business for past 30 years while working their full time job.s Even after moving back to Alabama, Panama City still holds a special place in the Leak's heart. They only live a 100 miles away, which means they can visit their close friends, tend to their business, or go shopping. Becky says, "we love the beaches and the seafood here too." The Leaks enjoy their business because they're able to offer home decor at a very reasonable price. "We consider our merchandise as upscale coastal decor with whimsical flare." They carry a line of decorative cast iron items; shelves; handcrafted bird houses; and so much more. Some of their products are made using recycled barn wood. D'Sings to go says, "We have enjoyed working with the coordinator, Erin Haray. She has made our hard work in setting up an easy task. We look forward to this year's event and hope it continues to grow!" We are happy to introduce Carolyn Willingham, owner of Gathered Pieces. Carolyn and her family were brought here 18 years ago because of their service with the Air Force and chose to retire here. Carolyn says, "the seafood is delicious & the sunsets are breathtaking. The opportunity for a great photo is everywhere."
Carolyn started Gathered Pieces to allow her creative side to show and to have something she could take pride in. She loves being able to create something that "evokes a special memory from the past." Gathered Pieces is a family business as her husband and son will help her restore or refurbish a piece of the furniture. Often times Carolyn has found a great piece from the flea market, estate sales or vintage market. She will either clean up a piece and replace the screws, re-freshened with a new coat of paint to make it new again or ad some fabric to give it a finished look. Carolyn is truly talented but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. At this time Carolyn is in the process of setting up her social media websites. We will post any links to her sites as soon as she has them up and running. Welcome back Tonya Burch of Tonya's Crochet Creation.
